Why God Chose an Ancient World

One of the greatest testimonies to the divine origin of Scripture is not simply what it says—but how it survived.

God intentionally revealed Himself through generations that possessed none of our modern technology. There were no printing presses, computers, cloud storage, or digital archives. Yet He preserved His Word through centuries of persecution, wars, empires, translations, and attempted destruction.

That was not a weakness in God's plan. It was part of His design.

Had God waited until our technologically advanced generation to reveal His written Word, many would have credited modern technology for its preservation. Instead, God chose an ancient world so that every generation would know that the survival of Scripture was accomplished by His own sovereign power.

The Bible's existence today is itself a miracle.

Read the Bible for Yourself

The Christian life is strengthened by personal exposure to God's Word.

Develop habits that continually place Scripture before your eyes. Read it individually. Read it with your family. Read it with your spouse. Build your life around the Word of God.

A quality study Bible can also help bridge the gap between understanding the text and applying it to everyday life. The goal is not merely to accumulate information but to allow God's Word to transform daily living.

Jesus promised that the time would come when He would speak plainly concerning the Father. Even in the book of Revelation, where much surrounding imagery is symbolic, the direct words of Christ remain remarkably clear. His commands, warnings, promises, and encouragement require very little interpretation—they demand application.

Too often believers become fascinated with prophetic symbols while overlooking the plain instructions Jesus Himself gives.

The more important question is not merely, "What does this prophecy represent?" but, "How should I obey Christ today?"

Technology Is Not the Enemy—Distraction Is

Technology is one of the greatest tools available for spreading the gospel.

Yet every blessing carries the potential to become a distraction.

Just as a person who receives something new may unintentionally neglect healthy routines that once strengthened them, the modern church can become consumed with technology while neglecting prayer, meditation, Bible reading, and personal evangelism.

The solution is not abandoning technology.

The solution is restoring priorities.

The church must intentionally return to the disciplines that have always produced spiritual strength.

Technology should serve the gospel—not replace the spiritual habits that produce mature believers.

Revival Begins With the Church

Many people speak about revival as though it belongs exclusively to the lost.

But revival is for those who already possess life.

The spiritually dead do not need revival.

They need awakening.

Revival restores life to believers whose passion has cooled.

Awakening opens the eyes of unbelievers to their desperate need for Jesus Christ.

The Holy Spirit desires both.

He wants to revive His Church while awakening a lost world to the reality of the cross.

The Greatest Benefit Is Eternal Life

Scripture certainly teaches the benefits of redemption.

Psalm 103 commands believers to remember God's benefits.

Healing.

Forgiveness.

Mercy.

Provision.

Strength.

Peace.

Yet these blessings must never become the primary sales pitch of Christianity.

Jesus redirected His disciples when they celebrated miraculous power.

Instead of rejoicing primarily over demons being subject to them, He instructed them to rejoice because their names were written in heaven.

The greatest miracle is not what happens through us.

The greatest miracle is what God has done for us.

Eternal life remains the supreme gift of salvation.

Recovering Our Sense of Urgency

One of the greatest dangers facing today's Church is not persecution.

It is complacency.

When believers truly understand the eternal destiny of those without Christ, evangelism ceases to become optional.

The Gospel becomes urgent.

If heaven and hell are realities, then every conversation with an unbeliever possesses eternal significance.

The early Church lived with this urgency.

They prayed.

They preached.

They persuaded.

They pleaded with people to be reconciled to God.

That urgency must return.

Christ Goes With Those Who Go

Jesus never instructed believers merely to admire the Great Commission.

He commanded them to go.

His promise was equally powerful:

"I am with you always."

He did not promise to go instead of us.

He promised to go with us.

Every gospel conversation becomes a partnership between the believer and Christ Himself.

When we witness, we never stand alone.

The Holy Spirit prepares hearts.

Christ confirms His Word.

He works alongside those willing to obey.

That reality should produce boldness.

Approach every opportunity to share Christ with confidence, praying that the Lord prepares hearts before you even speak.

Hunger Is Blessed

Jesus declared that those who hunger and thirst after righteousness are blessed.

Notice that the blessing begins before the satisfaction.

God honors spiritual hunger.

A believer who genuinely longs for God's truth has already positioned himself to receive more.

Even something as simple as faithfully reading Scripture invites God's blessing.

The desire for His Word becomes the doorway to deeper fellowship with Him.

The Bible: Eternal Technology

One of the greatest motivations for reading Scripture is recognizing its Author.

God exists outside the boundaries of time.

He has no beginning and no ending.

His wisdom preceded creation itself.

The same God who called light into existence now communicates through written words inspired by His Spirit.

Every page of Scripture carries the thoughts of the Eternal One.

When believers feed upon God's Word, they are not merely gathering information.

They are nourishing their spirits with truth that originated before time itself.

Scripture is eternal food for an eternal spirit.

The Test of Humility

God intentionally chose ordinary men to write extraordinary revelation.

To the natural mind, this becomes a stumbling block.

Many reject Scripture because they evaluate the human instruments rather than the divine Author.

Yet this is part of God's wisdom.

He requires mankind to humble themselves before His revelation.

Faith recognizes that while human hands recorded the Scriptures, God's Spirit inspired every word.

The authority belongs to God.

The Author Is Not Limited by Time

Isaiah presents one of Scripture's greatest descriptions of God's eternal nature.

He alone declares the end from the beginning.

His counsel never changes.

His purposes never fail.

His promises originate from eternity itself.

When God declared Abraham to be the father of many nations before Abraham had a single child, He was speaking from eternal reality into human history.

God was not guessing Abraham's future.

He was revealing what already existed within His eternal counsel.

Faith receives God's Word, agrees with His perspective, and begins living according to His eternal reality rather than present circumstances.

This is why God's Word possesses transforming power.

It is the voice of the Eternal God speaking into time, inviting mankind to align with His unchanging counsel.
